Why Gun Control Is a Good Thing
We all are aware of the gun, how it came into being, and the purpose of its creation. It is believed that the first gun was made in China in the 12th century and from there they spread on to the rest of the world. Guns have very many uses, but the main purpose for their creation was indeed self-defense, in order to protect the community from attacks by intruders. Other than that, guns are also used for sports, trade, for historical purposes of study, also in target practice, and indeed also in hunting for food. So it is very clear that guns are a very important part of society.
But, it is also worth noting that human beings, by nature, have the tendency of misusing very important things, and the gun is also one of them.So, with the introduction of the gun also came the rise in social evil. Lawlessness has prevailed and the rate of crime against our fellow men has risen to scary heights. And this is what has caused the authorities recently to uphold strict gun laws regarding ownership and use of firearms.
The authorities have been forced to put up strict gun ownership laws which inhibit every person to be able to easily have access to these dangerous weapons unless deemed very necessary. There are many gun shops seen in the cities where the guns can easily be purchased and indeed it would be scary if any tom, dick and harry could just walk up to these shops and buy a gun. That is why the introduction of the gun license was very vital because it limits the availability of these weapons unless under very special circumstances.
There has been a recent disturbing trend of school shootings all over the world, and these have caused a major headache to the authorities because the question of how these youngsters were able to easily access the weapons comes up. This in itself is reason enough why gun laws are indeed a very good and practical idea to be implemented in this day and age. Safety of our young children is indeed a major concern.
Gun laws are a very important thing to be implemented and we even hope they will be made stricter than they already are. So, when all is said and done, gun laws are a good thing.
